This is a 4-hour (5:30-9:30 PM) course for those who:

• Have no prior medical experience
• Are completely new to “Stop The Bleed” principles
• Are looking for an introductory “Stop The Bleed” course before engaging in deeper instruction

This course will take place at The Firing Pin, an indoor firearms range located at 8240 Buffalo Rd, Bergen, NY 14416.

If you carry a pistol or carbine on a daily basis or are considering daily carry, understanding “Stop the Bleed” basics is extremely important. Just as critical as the ability to proficiently put holes in adversaries is the ability to effectively plug wounds in yourself and others.

Our Emergency Aid Foundations Course will introduce students to the bare bones basics of stopping hemorrhagic bleeding caused by gunshot and/or stab wounds. Instruction will occur in a classroom setting with opportunities for Q&A style discussion.

This course is NOT intended to take the place of a bona fide Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC)-style course that spends 6+ hours going over Care-Under-Fire methodologies and related topics in detail.

Our Emergency Aid Foundations Course is simply meant to teach students the ground-level basics of “Stop The Bleed” principles and tools so they have a foundation of medical knowledge to work from in a worst-case scenario. Ongoing instruction in this area is highly recommended as your time and budget allow.

It is recommended that you bring note taking materials to this course.

We will address:

• The causes and effects of hemorrhagic bleeding
• Types of tourniquets and proper use
• Use of hemostatic gauze, Israeli bandage, chest seal, and nasopharyngeal airway kit

This is a 4-hour course taking place from 5:30 - 9:30 PM.

All courses of instruction require pre-payment at the time of registration. Because student space is limited, courses are filled on a first come, first paid basis. Should First Line Defense cancel this course, our staff will contact you to determine if you desire a full refund of your payment or rescheduling for a different date/time. Otherwise, your payment is 100% NON-refundable.

If you are worried about potential exposure to COVID-1984 and expecting a full refund to avoid contact with whatever the “deadly” variant du jour happens to be, please do NOT register for instruction with us. Fear of COVID-1984 is not a valid reason for a refund of any kind.
